Ukulele tribute to John Lennon

Continuing the over-riding musical theme of today, the day that would have been John Lennon's 70th birthday, here is a wonderful, heartfelt tribute to him from a bunch of ukulele players - little snippets of covers of Lennon and Beatles songs. I love this and I hope you enjoy it too. Some are very sophisticated, and some are just simple and fun.

  1. Scotty that's amazing! I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed that. I actually feel like going out, buying a Ukulele and learning every Beatles and Lennon song too!

    Great posts today!

  2. Fantastic - a bit bizzare - but fantastic. Is it just me that thinks that Sebi {2.17ish} is Hugh Fearnly Whittingstall.......

I don't think I really appreciated John Lennon or his music when I was young. I only seemed to think of him in terms of John and Yoko and the week in bed stunt.

You do learn perspective as you get older though......

    lovely post.

but I'm not going to rush out and buy a ukelele just yet. The world's just not ready for MY singing!

  3. well he can sing better than you big bro!...
only joking!, Al just posted a link to here and raised an interesting point that we remmember people no longer here from the age they were when they died...and not how old they would be if alive today..imagine Jimi Hendrex still jamming in an old folks home, or Jim morrison lighting his fire...then in my generation Nirvanas Kurt Cobain...i think death can sometimes create a cult following of someone,or a band...guess death is what can make people heroes
